South Cusco Valley

Cusco definitely has many awesome tourist attractions and one of the most important is definitely the south valley.

South of Cusco city, coming from the highlands, there are archaeological sites of different characteristics. One before the Incas, one with a distinct and unique building style and the third that impresses with its water distribution system, are forced point of his tour to understand the grandeur of the Inca empire.  Some of the most important places to visit are:

Tipon, a beautiful city where you can find some amazing enclosures and wonderful water fountains. Piquillacta, is a symmetric city divided in blocks with straight streets that cover many aspects as administrative, ceremonial, urban and defensive with a road system. Its buildings had 2 or 3 floors 12m high each. And finally Raqchi an architectonic complex is one of the most important constructions in the Inca Empire. It was special because of its extraordinary architectural techniques completely different from other Inca constructions. However, it is not well known by tourists.
